Pure Traits
The common rule of a pure is: 'A good defence is a good offence." And
of course this is correct, pure characters suppress devastating fury at such a low level to be unleashed at chaotic effect,
but of course you could be a tank pure, devastating your enemy by not being able to be hurt. Invincible if you will.
This guide will be aimed at raising P2P (member) pures or hybrid character to amazing effect, but
this guide is not for the faint hearted. It involves alot of time, effort and stress, but if you stick at it, you'll eventually
get there.
Before we move on, my guide states a hybrid pure to be a pure that raises mage, range, strength and
attack, but no defence, and very little prayer
First lets start of with something simple. Raising your pure in non members. Once you have read my
beginner F2P pure guide then return here to read this one.
Click here to read F2P pure guide.
Ok hopefully you have now read the F2P pure guide so we can move on to the P2P guide, which
is slightly different.
Creating a pure
If you had read my F2P Pure guide you should now fully understand what a pure is etc, and what different
types of pures there are, and basic pure principals. From that knowledge and basic principals put forward we can now develop
a pure to have huge levels and remain a fairly low combat level.
Follow closely to this guide, but do not be afraid to adventure to adapt your pure to what you need.
This guide is solely aimed at low defence pures, but you could even go as far to have a pure with 60 attack, 60 strength,
99 defence, 99 range and 99 mage. It's all up to you. But make sure you choose your path wisely.
In the F2P Guide we looked at picking names, if you are starting a new pure and wish to have a name
to suit a P2P pure, read below.
1. The Name
Even if you were completely oblivious to what a pure is, you would still recognise a pure name. They
have extremely 'cocky' names stating how much they own etc, because usually they are cocky little bastards.
Example:
O W N 3 D
C U At Lum
Ra Nge Pkown
I O W N U
Z E U S Str
I wrack I
X O W N X
I think you get the drift. You can edit your name to suit what you are going to do, meaning if you
are going to PK or stake, but be creative and think of something you like. Remember the old saying: A name is for life not
just for Christmas like a puppy.
2. The Type
This is an important decision, so you have to be adamant about your choice, you can't go changing
your mind through it, because you will mess up the pure. Below are a list of pure types.
Strength pure
Mage Pure
Range Pure
Hybrid Pure
Tank Pure (range or mage)
Prayer beast or pure
Hits Pure
Choose your pure type wisely it is possibly the most important choice you will make as a pure. Most
people eventually veer towards hybrid pures if they are not already defence or tank beasts.
In this guide I will be telling you how to create a hybrid pure, meaning that you will only train
range, mage, strength and attack, feel free to stop when you think you have levelled up enough, or feel free to add levels
onto what you already have.
3. Getting started
Ok, before we go any further, if you are looking to raise any extremely good pure, you will have
to have a vast pocket because this is no cheap task.
Ok, now that we got that out of the way we can move on. This guide is aimed at raising
a hybrid pure, so we will start with raising strength and attack, but feel free to raise mage or range first whatever
your preference.
Firstly, stock up on weapons, because you will be leveling up relatively
quickly so you will need a good collection of every type. The best training is with a scimitar, so buy yourself one of every
scimitar (iron to dragon)
Food: you will need a good collection of food so stock up on lobbies,
trout, salmon, sharks and swordies, or whatever you feel is most appropiate.
Armour: At this point you will have no range levels so you will have to
do with the regular full iron with plate and full helm, but stock up on the range armour as well for the future.
Jewellery: If you are becoming a staker stock up on recoil rings etc,
dueling rings, lots of glories because you will never be able to recharge them yourself so you will have to have lots. Strength
amulets for PKing, and a fury amulet for staking and training.
Runes: You will obviously need alot of runes, but do not buy these until
we start to train mage.
Range gear: Buy all the range gear you will ever need, including all armour
except bodies. Remember lots of knives, mith arrows, darts etc, so you can train extremely fast.
4. Training
Attack and Strength
a) Train attack and strength up evenly until you are 40 attack and
40 strength. This trains relatively quickly. Train your attack and strength at rock crabs, which are found north of Seers.
Or you could train anywhere that there are relatively weak monsters. The new Security dungeon is pretty decent for training
on low levels. Whatever your preference, you can train where you feel comfortable. If you would like to talk ot other pures
train at Rock Crabs.
b) After you get 40 attack and 40 strength, you should be training with
a rune scimitar to 60 strength, this can still be trained to 60 at Rock crabs. This will take relatively longer than 40 in
each stat, and when you get to 60 strength, Congratulations you have created a relativively low profile pure. Give yourself
a pat on the back, but be prepared for more training.
c) After 60 strength, or even before, you can start effectively training
strength and attack at Pest Control World 78. Pest Control offers quick leveling up, which of course is ideal for a pure.
Train your attack to 59 at pest control and strength to what ever you want, try to get it at least to 65. Remember to spend
100 points at a time, don't waste your time with buying 1point at a time, you get a 10% increase in Xp if you buy as a 100
bundle
d) Time to do Lost City. Ok don't be feeling
upset about this quest, it's unbelievably easy. All you need to do is to hide and mage it with weak mage spells, which will
probably get you some mage levels, but that will not put your pure off balance. Remember to do this quest at 59 attack, because
the monkey madness pre quests will get you to 60. It's better to keep your attack at 60 until you want to wield a whip, but
that's not for quite a while.
e) Monkey Madness comes next, this involves alot of work, you may even
need a friend to help you, by providing you with food etc. The gnome pre-quests will get you to 60 attack if you are
not already 60. If you are already 60 attack, they will get you to 61.
Monkey Madness will be a struggle but in doing that you can use a dragon Scimitar. :)
f) This is where it starts to get hard and boring. you now have to train
your strength to roughly 75. Use world 78 Pest Control and a dragon scimitar to train strength to 75, remember to spend all
your points on strength. The higher strength the better. At times you will get bored, so take a break and go PKing once and
a while or do a bit of dueling to get yourself used to how it works. Maybe even do some low stakes.
Also if you have irc, which is Swift switch chat. Found here. Join the #pestcontrol channel, but use a nickname form the highscores that is over level 95, because
you get booted for being under 95. If you type !world this chat will tell you all the best worlds
to train at pest control
Mage training
At this point in time try to get to level 85 magic, hopefully you will gain zero combat levels from
this, unless you gain some hp levels, but don't worry about that.
g) Your mage should already be slightly high from Lost city, or you may
have started to raise it up from the start, but what ever you choose make sure you use High alching or Pest Control. Whenever
you can high alch I advise you start High Alching to 85 mage. This process is very time consuming and boring. I suggest you
alch in Edgeville in a good PKing world, this is where all the pures high alch. Alternatively, you could fight the monsters
at Pest Control with a Dragon Scimmy and spend the points on mage until you are 85. This way is slower but much cheaper.
Range Training
h) Time to get 70 range. Use all your knives mith arrows etc to train
your range, you could also train at Pest control, but what ever you choose make sure you don't give up half way. 70 range
is quite a handful so take it at your stride, taking breaks to PK and to Duel etc.
Strength Training
i) Now train your strength to 85, keeping your attack at 60. Use Pest
Control for xp, as rock crabs will take to long. You will start to get good xp from pest control at around 70-75 strength,
so it all becomes worthwhile.
More Quests
j) Time to do Desert Treasure. You will need Priest in Peril as a requirement
for this quest, but you could have done this quest whenever you wanted so you could get access to Experiments.
Priest in Peril will get you to 11 prayer, so buy a few bones to raise it to 13 prayer, so you can
use Superhuman Strength for duels.
Get all the levels you need to do desert treasure, 53 theiving is a pain but stick at it using Rogues
den as much as possible. Desert Treasure is quite a difficult quest and I advise you get a friend to carry food and pots
etc for you.
After the quest get the ghostly robes etc, so you will be ready for PKing with 85 mage.
Mage Training
k) Time for the painful accension. Raising your mage to 94. I advise you
use high alching or Pest Control to raise your mage to 87. Then buy a lavabattle staff to use enchant onyx in the Mage Training
Area, you receive 73 exp per enchant so it is relativly quick and easy, and doesn't cost as much as high alching.
Options
Quest Options
Ok you will probably have noticed that your pure at the moment is owning incredibly, here are a list
of the available options to you after or during the use of this guide.
1. Horror from the Deep.
This quest is definately a must have. A Zamorak book is just an amazing PKing bonus. Do this
Quest basically whenever you feel you are ready. I would advise 60 attack, and 70 strength definately, you may need your mage
higher for doing this quest.
2. Dwarf Cannon
If you are looking to easily train your range to 70, then do this quest and get a cannon and alot
of cannon balls and you are set.
3. Mage Arena
Definately a must do quest, do this when you are 60 mage, you just can't miss a hefty mage bonus
with a God cape.
4. Family Crest
This isn't nessecary, but if you want the gauntlets for the strength bonus then by all means fire
away at this quest.
5. Underground Pass.
I would not advise doing this quest, it's not worth the time and the effort, but if you would like
to continue to get the dragon hally and Iban Blast, then do this Quest.
6. Recipe for disaster
You can do recipe for disaster up to mith gloves, which give you a strength bonus, and you only need
1 defence to wear them
Level Options
There are many paths to choose after you get the levels from the guidelines. Here are a list of them.
1) Train Range up higher, possibly to 90 or 99
Use Pest Control to train range higher, it is the most effective way to train
2) Train prayer up to 31
Only do this if you don't mind gaining around 4 combat levels, but you will be able to benefit from
Ultimate Strength, which raises your strength by 15%
3) Train Strength to 99 and attack to 70
Raising attack to 70 will give the ability to wield a whip for more effective PKing, but watch if
you PK with whip on controlled, because eventually you will receive a defence level
4) Get Defence to 40
Do Dragon Slayer quest to wear full rune, this will increase your combat level considerably, but
you will still be an ownage pure, and you won't get hit as hard.
PKing

Dueling
Most pures get rich from dueling, or else they have a very rich main. If you don't have a very rich
main I advise you use dueling.
Practise small stake duels in normal worlds, once wyou think you got the hang of it, move to more
populated worlds such as world 2. Remember never to stake something that will drain you completely, and remember to take risks,
until you can afford a rare.
Staking rares makes you incredible cash, but only do it if you can afford to lose a rare, like a
mask or santa.
Most stakes will be no armour, with a dds and amulet of somekind, so your offensive will burst through
the weak defence. Remember, most pures are cocky, so you may be able to make mils of one guy, just try not to be cocky like
the majority and keep your cool when dueling, just because you are a pure doesn't make you invincible.
Conclusion
Well that about rounds it up for the pure guide. I hope I have inspired and influenced you to make
a pure, but remember it's your choice, your pure does not have to be text book, use the rule of thumb method, and you can't
go wrong
